Whats about adding a window to this room? Okay thats not a big feature BUT now show the current weather outside through this window. VoilĂ  it's a awesome feature. :-) You should choose the weather and display of any location based on a big world wide weather page and not just the US weather. Furthermore you should, if you like to, add more windows to see different weather locations. But you should also see the location displayed under or above the windows. By displaying the weather I mean if its rainy you see the rain or raindrops on the window. If its sunny you see the bright sun, and so on... If you are not connected to the internet you see roller blinds or close-drawn curtains And if you want to see the current temperature you should be able to place a thermometer on one of the room walls. ...

Wouldn't even need to be large. Double-click zoom-in, just like a photo-frame. Small thermometer on the side, and some general animations showing whats going on. Shouldn't be too difficult to punch in a zip-code, and have it go on it's own. But if this happens, it might not hurt to make it a toggleable setting. Some people might not be crazy of another third-party app constantly accessing the internet.

@OoooF4LiFe people should add the window like they can add photo frames. also they should decide how often it will be refreshed.

That'd totally kick @#$%. and with Vista it could link with the Sidebar app. But in the UK, it may as well just be a picture of some rain.

Already thought of a window in the wall but seemed pretty useless but with the weather behind it it is briliant

could you not use one of the photo frames and grab the picture from a weather station's RSS? that may work.

Me and my business partner have written this widget already. We will be coming out w/ a free and a pay for version. the free will just display one pane w/ weather. The pro will have up to four panes and display further info. and possibly animations - preview here: http://electrikjesus.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!5767D60F814901D6!369.entry Window 2 the Weather - W2W is the final title.

Actually, it'd be great to have your current open windows show up as windows on your walls also. I mean, they are windows after all! ;)

I agree windows on walls to show weather and current time of day in the location shown would be excellent

This is a great idea! You could have one wall devoted to weather, and have a shelf on which a thermometer could be placed (by BumpTop). It could be dragged and dropped on that wall only, and when done so, it could tell the temperature! Great idea, make sure you vote!

Unless you live in a cellar, why not just look out of the window. Seems like a rather pointless, resource-hugging waste of time.

It seems like a cool feature but why not make the weather outside the same "weather" as inside your desktop.

it would be nice to have a clock where you can change the for the window. With this you can look for the weather tomorrow. In addition there should be a thermometer near the window
